In the beginning [before all time] was the Word (Christ), and the Word was with God, and the Word was God Himself. (John 1:1 AMPC). In this verse, the word (Word) is the same as the Greek word Logos, which in the New Testament dictionary is defined as the Word of God. Jesus Christ is seen here as the pre-existent second person of the Trinity, divine in nature.
He (the Logos) was in the beginning with God. All things came into being through Him (the Logos), and apart from Him (the Logos) nothing came into being that has come into being. (John 1:2-3). In Kenneth Wuest's Book Golden Nuggets from the Greek New Testament, pg. 50, he defines it in the verb form which literally means "to pick out or select," thus "to pick words in order to express one's thoughts," thus "to speak." Jesus Christ was not created, but was in the beginning, He is eternal, He was there with God before the creation of things began.
And the Word (the Logos) became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we saw His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. (John 1:14). In Lawrence Richards Expository Dictionary, pg. 634, he says, "The Word is the active, powerful presence of God, through which He works His will in History." And on pg. 635, he adds, "The Word is both recorded truth and our moment of truth - both the truth about God and the place where we meet God personally." Jesus Christ is the Logos of God, the Word made flesh, who both created us and lived among us.
He (the Logos) was in
the beginning with God.
John 1:2
God wants us to enter into a supernatural rest, that is why He provided the Gospel. He wants you to experience supernatural peace in every area of your life. In your personal life, in your mind, your emotions, your family, your marriage, your health and in your finances. It's through the Word (Logos) that He will meet you in all His power and all His Glory. He wants you to experience salvation in every area of your life.
The word salvation in the greek is the word (sozo) which means to save, to deliver or protect, to heal, do well, or be made whole. It also means to preserve safe from danger, loss, and destruction, and even deliverance from physical death. Salvation also means that the sick will be healed, and that they will recover, and be restored to health. It specifically refers to eternal life, salvation from eternal death, sin, and the consequence of sin, that is offered to those being saved through faith in Jesus Christ.
Jesus speaking, "Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him and he with Me." (Revelation 3:20–21 NASB). For He says "AT THE ACCEPTABLE TIME I LISTENED TO YOU, AND ON THE DAY OF SALVATION I HELPED YOU"; behold, now is "THE ACCEPTABLE TIME," behold now is "THE DAY OF SALVATION"-- (2 Corinthians 6:2 NASB).
Namely that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their tresspasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation. Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God. He made Him who knew no sin to be sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in Him. (2 Corinthians 5:19-20 NASB). Begin a brand new relationship with the Lord Jesus today!
